About

My drawings explore interactions between light, colour and form. Influenced by colour theory and Bauhaus principles, I approach each piece as an inquiry.

Working primarily with coloured pencils, the process is guided by intuitive decisions that enable each work to gradually unfold. Through layers of hand drawn lines, hues and tones create depth, rhythm and harmony. The act of making is both meditative and deliberate, allowing the innate qualities of colour to guide the composition – and thus transforming simple shapes into expressive constructions.

While my work is intrinsically abstract, many recurrent shapes are inspired by natural phenomena. And it is through this practice, that I aim to reveal the beauty and order inherent in the world around us.
